Dear BCS Families and Friends,
Greetings from Berean Christian School!
The past few years have been eventful ones for the BCS community. Many positive and encouraging events have occurred, but there have also been some significant struggles. The economy has affected both BCS, and many of our families, like you, who are working diligently to insure their children are educated in a safe, Christian environment. Though there have been many difficult decisions to make, we have managed to operate within our budget.
Even while funds are not in excess, our administrative team has come up with creative and innovative ways to improve our programs. This year as you know, we began a relationship with Christian Youth Theater to bring a full drama program to the campus of BCS. We are also developing a relationship with the Sea Cadets in an attempt to establish an on-campus chapter and we have begun working toward a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics curriculum, or STEM option in our high school for next year.
In this process, our administrative team has developed one primary goal in our Academic Business Plan for the school as it moves forward. It is a goal that will require total dedication and commitment. Our goal is to provide and promote the best Christian academic experience in Palm Beach County. As we forge ahead with this goal in mind, we have been provided with an incredible opportunity. After years of attempts with no result, the two properties directly adjacent to the east side of our current property have become available for purchase. The total cost for the two parcels is four million dollars, which is a fraction of what those properties cost a decade ago. The acquisition of these properties would create a great opportunity for us to develop additional academic buildings, an athletic stadium for football and soccer, a baseball field and softball field. This acquisition would also create room for both Grace Fellowship and BCS to have separate facilities. I cannot begin to tell you what this opportunity would do for BCS and the realization of our goals.
In order to initiate this purchase, we must raise $200,000 to cover the school's portion of the down payment. Those moneys are not available in the general budget. As such, we must raise the funds through donations. I understand that these times are difficult and this request is bold, but I would ask you to prayerfully consider what God would have you do in support of BCS. While my immediate desire is to raise the funds for the down-payment, I believe God "is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us." (Ephesians 3:20).
To accelerate subsequent donations, I am making an additional donation link available on the front page of our website www.bcsbulldogs.org at Pay online, which is posted in the right hand column. You can donate at that site via a credit card transaction or through your check routing number. Also, if you wish, you may use the form below to submit a check by mail as noted. This form also highlights possible naming rights options for the projected on-sight facilities and fields.
I appreciate your time and support of BCS over the years. If the Lord leads you to make a contribution to this opportunity or to identify this need to others who might make a donation, BCS would be greatly appreciative.
In Christ,
William Dupere
